About Magnetism Consulting

My Story

I spent 30 years at PwC helping clients across industries grow, cut cost and manage risk. I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes, and I’ve seen just about everything.
 

I’m steeped in relationship-based sales and business development, with a consistent track record of leading teams to deliver revenue growth and new business success.

My Mission

Professional services firms rarely struggle with expertise. The real challenge is turning that expertise into consistent, scalable revenue growth.


Too often a firm depends on a small number of rainmakers, while the rest of the organisation lacks the skills and confidence to contribute effectively to business development. Training happens, but the behaviours don’t stick because the systems, incentives and culture don’t support them. At the same time, many firms are not taking full advantage of data, technology and AI to strengthen how they win work.


After 30 years at PwC leading teams to deliver revenue growth and new business success, I now work with professional services firms to address that gap. The focus is simple: build a commercial system that activates the whole organisation to contribute to growth.


That typically means strengthening business development skills, putting the right governance and operating rhythm in place, aligning incentives and culture so that people are motivated to build relationships and originate work, and using data and technology more intelligently to support the sales process.


Alongside advisory work, I sit on the Global Faculty of DCM Insights delivering the Activator Development System to professional services firms worldwide. This gives me the opportunity to combine my many years of lived experience building high value relationships and winning work, with the world’s leading quantitative and qualitative research into what makes the very best business developers so successful.


I am also a Business Performance Coach, working with business owners and leaders to grow their businesses sustainably and profitably, simplify operations and reduce friction, achieving their personal as well as their business goals. I bring experience, objectivity and practical support focused on what matters most, whether it’s urgent, longer-term or both.
